Note: BV Clear is a strong product for women under 45. If you are over 45 or postmenopausal, you can start with a milder product to clear BV to avoid possible burning. This article explains: How to clear BV with NeuEve Gold, Silver, or Silk suppositories or cream?
1) Start time
The best time to start the treatment is shortly after your period is cleared. You will have the longest time to treat BV without interference from the menstrual period.
If you no longer have a period, like you had a hysterectomy or are postmenopausal, you can start at any time. But you will need to start with a milder formula and move up to BV Clear stepwise to avoid possible intolerance due to menopausal related vaginal atrophy.
2) Application frequency and duration
You need to determine your BV severity first and treat your BV accordingly.
Assess your BV severity:
- Mild: First-time BV without previous treatments.
- Moderate: Recurrent BV with one treatment.
- Severe: Recurrent BV, multiple treatments.
Bacteria that survive each treatment can develop resistance to it. Therefore, the more different treatments you had, the more stubborn your BV case may become.
Depending on the severity of your BV, the days on which you take the suppositories will differ:
Warning: Using BV Clear more frequently than two consecutive days may cause irritation. However, if you can tolerate it well, you can use BV Clear continuously until it is cleared. If you feel a little burning or irritation, you can take a break for a day before resume the next treatment period.
Increasing the application frequency stepwise can avoid possible irritation because you can gain tolerance. However, if you feel burning after using the first BV Clear suppository, you can reduce the next dose to 1/2 a suppository. This article explains: I felt burning after using BV Clear. What should I do?
Please mark your calendar based on the BV Clear application schedule listed above. Skipping doses may allow a severe type of BV to recur.
If your BV symptoms are completely cleared before finishing the products, you can use 1 more suppository to ensure that the BV is indeed cleared. Then, you can shift to maintenance mode.
3) Stop BV from coming back
After your BV is cleared, it is important to do maintenance. You can use one BV Clear suppository a week, skipping the week of the period. One pack of BV Clear can last for a month. You can subscribe to it for monthly delivery.
How to stop BV from coming back?
If your BV is a presumptive mild case but is not cleared by using 1 pack of BV Clear, it may be a moderate case, and you will need to use 2 packs to clear it as described above. However, if you have used 3 packs of BV Clear but your BV is still not cleared, your case may be very severe. You can try the advanced formula designed for clearing a stubborn type of BV. It is called BV Clear Finisher
(https://www.neueve.com/products/finisher).
If you are over 45 or have vaginal dryness and painful sex and have a stubborn case of BV, you cannot use BV Clear or BV Clear Finisher upfront because you may feel burning due to vaginal atrophy. You can find the right product for clearing your BV by reading this article:

If your BV is not relieved after you use BV Clear Finisher, you may have a complex case. Many stubborn BV cases were later found to be AV, CV, and/or yeast. We recommend that you do a Juno test to verify the diagnosis. A Juno test costs about $150. Juno has offered a group discount to our customers: Juno Lab offers a group discount to NeuEve customers. Once you have the test report, please share a copy with us. We will be happy to assist you in analyzing it and deciding the most appropriate treatment plan to address your health concern.
